4 Days Safari – Murchison Falls

Day 1: Kampala City Tour and Ndere Cultural performance

Upon arriving at Entebbe Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our company representative. You’ll then be transferred to your lodge for check-in and to freshen up. After resting, you’ll embark on a city tour of Kampala, Uganda’s vibrant capital.

You have two options for your city tour:

1. Urban Tour Circuit: Visit the Baha’i Temple, a unique and serene site that is the only one of its kind in Africa, or the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, a significant location commemorating the Uganda Martyrs. Finish the tour with a thrilling cultural performance by the Ndere Troupe, which showcases Ugandan cultures through captivating music and dance. Please note that these cultural performances are held on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
2. Freestyle Tour: Explore Kampala at your own pace, observing the day-to-day lifestyle of the city, before heading to the Ndere Troupe performance in the evening.

Dinner will be served at Ndere Centre, and you’ll spend the night at either Red Chili Hideaway (Budget) or Kazi Beach Resort (Midrange) in Kampala.

Note: If your flight arrives late, your activities for the day may be adjusted accordingly.

Day 2: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Track Rhinos, and visit Top of Murchison Falls

You’ll start your day with an early morning pick-up and a road transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you’ll have the opportunity to track rhinos. After tracking, enjoy a satisfying lunch before continuing your journey to Murchison Falls National Park.

Upon arrival at the park, you’ll drive through a picturesque tropical forest, appreciating the natural beauty and spotting various animals along the way. Your destination is the top of the breathtaking Murchison Falls, where you’ll witness the Nile River thundering down a narrow gorge in a stunning display of nature’s power. This spot offers incredible photo opportunities and spectacular views.

After enjoying the falls, you’ll head to your accommodation for check-in. You will spend the night at either Red Chilli Rest Camp (Budget) or Murchison River Lodge (Midrange), where you’ll have dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 3: Game drive and Boat cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, you’ll set out for a morning game drive in Uganda’s largest and oldest park, Murchison Falls National Park. The drive will take you through picturesque savannah grasslands dotted with palms and acacias, extending up to the Nile Delta where the Nile River meets Lake Albert. As you explore, you’ll have the chance to spot a variety of wildlife including elephants, lions, buffalos, giraffes, waterbucks, and bushbucks, capturing memorable photographs of the animals in their natural habitat.

After your game drive, return to your lodge for lunch and some relaxation.

In the afternoon, embark on a boat cruise along the Nile River to the base of the majestic Murchison Falls. Here, you’ll witness the world’s strongest waterfall as it roars through a narrow gorge, creating a spectacular rainbow view. The boat cruise offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities along the riverbanks, where you may see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species such as African eagles, pelicans, kingfishers, and Egyptian geese.

After the boat cruise, return to your lodge to unwind. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at either Red Chilli Rest Camp (Budget) or Murchison River Lodge (Midrange).

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking, Nature Walk-Transfer to Kampala

Today, you’ll head to Budongo Central Forest Reserve for an exciting day of chimpanzee tracking. Upon arrival, you’ll receive a briefing before setting off on your adventure through the lush tropical forest. Chimpanzee tracking involves walking through the forest in search of these fascinating primates, who are known for their active behavior as they swing through the trees.

After the chimpanzee tracking, you’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy a nature walk, soaking in the beauty of the forest and its surroundings.

Following your time in Budongo, you’ll begin the journey back to Entebbe. In Entebbe, you’ll have dinner before heading to the airport to catch your night flight. Safe travels!
